Welcome to Leigh
The community website for our Wiltshire village
Chancel Summer Service:
A socially distanced, outdoor church service was held at The Chancel on July 26th 2020.
Parish Councillors: The Parish Council is on the lookout for new recruits. If you're interested in joining the Parish Council, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Public Bins: Residents of Hillside are being asked not to use the public yellow bins for recycling, and to use your black box as provided by Wiltshire Council. You can request a new or extra black recycling box here.
Safe Leigh Church: We are delighted to report that the Raffle raised £1,085 towards the ‘Save Leigh Church’ Building Fund. We made the draw at the very well attended Christmas Carol Service and the list of prize winners is about to be published here.
Church Improvement: Permission is being sought to make improvements to the community facilities of All Saints Church. The proposal includes removal of some pews and installing a permanent WC to the rear.
Fibre Cabling: Gigaclear is now available in many parts of the village; offering high speed fibre Internet. The Voneus wireless network is also available to many villagers, and Openreach fibre broadband is a third option for those living at either end of Leigh.
200 Club: Congratulations to the July 200 Club winner; Tom Cowdry (£20) and runner-up; Janet Corry (£10). Click here to find out more about the monthly draw, and how you can take part.
Waterhay Car Park: Safety barrier badly damaged at car park entrance.
Swan Lane: No road signs at western end of Swan Lane at junction with B4696. Poor visibility turning onto Swan Lane when approaching from Leigh Crossroads from B4696.
