Latest weather warnings and advice:

Note from Leigh Parish Council:

Wiltshire council has said they will have to prioritise the main road networks with regards to fallen trees etc.

This could leave smaller communities like the village cut off for a while if the roads become blocked.

The Parish Council have emergency sheds and plans in place if needed, they also have a list of people with chainsaws etc.

If anybody needs help you can contact Donna or one of the Councillors.

Note from Wiltshire Council:

Update - February 25th:

Thank you to everyone who reported issues to us caused by the recent severe weather.

We had almost 950 reports for both storms, so as you can imagine, this is taking some time to clear up.

For this reason, we have postponed work on routine highways defects for now, though immediate safety issues will be a priority as usual.

If you spot a tree down or another obstruction on the highway, please let us know with MyWilts.

Update - February 18th:

Red warning

As the weather warning for parts of southern Wiltshire has changed to a Red warning, we're now advising people throughout the county only to make essential journeys today (Friday 18 February). A Red warning indicates a significant danger to life, as extremely strong winds provide the potential for damage to structures and flying debris. For the rest of Wilshire, there is an Amber warning in place, which means there is the possibility of travel delays, road and rail closures, power cuts and the potential risk to life and property. As there are two warnings in place, we're advising everyone in Wiltshire not to travel unless your journey is essential. All schools and early years settings in the county have been advised to close, and we're working with our waste contractors regarding waste collections and household recycling centres – for updates, please follow us on Twitter.

If you spot a tree down or another obstruction on the highway, please let us know with MyWilts.
