The Parish Council has decided to remove the equipment from the playpark at Hillside.
There are several reasons for this: the equipment is very old, it does not meet today’s safety regulations, on the climbing frame there are safety rails missing and the climbing ropes are frayed.
Some of the floor tiles are coming up, this is a trip hazard.
We don't own the land so we cannot get funding for repairs or replacement equipment.
It will be very sad to see it go, but the Parish Council think it is now for the best.
The playpark at Hillside has now been removed.
It was not possible to grind the metal from the swings flush to the floor, so there has been some matting put on it so that a dog/person doesn't cut their foot.
Many thanks to Lucky Metals for doing this for us.
